How to Request a YouTube Official Artist Channel (OAC)

Protocol: Consolidate // Verify // Elevate

Your fans are looking for you. Is your content scattered across the digital void?
At ANS Music, we integrate your Vevo, Topic, and Personal channels into one powerful hub: The Official Artist Channel (OAC).

YouTube Artist Channels

System Architecture: What is an OAC?

An Official Artist Channel is your one-stop shop on YouTube. When you distribute music, YouTube generates a “Topic Channel.” An OAC merges that Topic Channel and your Vevo content onto your own Owned & Operated channel.

Unified Content

Music videos, art tracks, tour diaries, and vlogs all in one searchable location.

Verification

Receive the official “Music Note” badge, signaling to fans and industry reps that this is the real deal.

Control

Customize your bio, playlist sections, and banner. You control the narrative.

Phase 1: Ingest Data (Upload Music)

We cannot process an OAC request if your music isn’t on the platform. First, you must upload your tracks to YouTube Music via ANS Music.

  1. Create a free account at www.ansmusiclimited.com
  2. Upload your high-quality audio and artwork.
  3. Input metadata and artwork.
  4. Submit for review. You will start earning revenue from the first play.

*Note: Your music will initially appear on a “Various Artists” topic channel. This will migrate to your unique Topic Channel within 30 days.

Phase 2: Compatibility Check

Ensure your channels meet the following system requirements before applying:

  • Owned & Operated (O&O) Channel: A personal channel you control containing only your artist content.

  • Topic Channel: The auto-generated channel created by ANS Music.

  • Content Base: At least 1 official music video or art track on your O&O channel.

  • Restrictions: No copyright strikes, no different artists on the same channel, no mashups.

Phase 3: Execute Request

Phase 4: Interface Customization

Once approved, you have full control. Here is how to optimize your visual identity.

Channel Icon

The circular image next to your videos.

  • JPG, GIF (no animation), BMP, or PNG.
  • 800 x 800 px recommended.
  • Avoid text; use your logo or face.

Channel Banner

The “Billboard” header of your page.

  • 2048 x 1152 px (16:9 Aspect Ratio).
  • Safe Area for text: 1235 x 338 px.
  • File size: 6MB or smaller.

Artist Bio & Links

Navigate to the “About” tab to edit your description. Keep it under 1500 characters (YouTube truncates after 150). This is also where you add links to your Spotify, Instagram, and Website which will appear overlaid on your Banner.

Phase 5: Analytics & Strategy

OACs unlock merged data. You can now track statistics for all your videos (even ones you didn’t upload yourself, like Art Tracks) in one dashboard.

► Concert Strategy: Check your “Audience” tab. See where your listeners are located geographically to plan your next tour.

► Content Strategy: Compare engagement on Official Music Videos vs. Vlogs to see what your fans prefer.

► Real-Time: Watch views roll in the moment you drop a release.

System FAQ

Zero. It is a free upgrade when you distribute music via ANS Music.
